Professional Experience

Dr. Karki is accomplished in all aspects of chemical and bio-pharmaceutical patent law including but not limited to preparing and prosecuting provisional, utility and PCT applications, strategic patent counseling, rendering freedom to practice (FTP), non-infringement and invalidity opinions, IP due diligence in mergers & acquisitions, managing patent prosecution portfolios, assisting with patent litigation and experts, prior art searching with particular emphasis on polymers, pharmaceuticals, drugs, formulations,  industrial processes and chemicals.

He has published many research papers in the field of charge transfer in inorganic metal complexes and semiconductor nano-crystals, ultrafast laser and Stark spectroscopies including photosynthesis.  He has also published law review articles on different patent law topics.

Dr. Karki is active with pro-bono work and has represented indigent clients regarding political asylum, social security disability as well as immigration removal defense before Federal and State courts.
